My jazz trio released its first CD last December. It's way cool looking and great sounding! We (me, piano; Jón Rafnsson, bass; Kristinn Snær, drums) took some popular Icelandic songs, some by what would be called "cool" artists and some what could be considered "less cool", the genres being all kinds...folk, punk, disco, indie, rock... and dressed it up in traditional piano trio arrangements. Changed the feel, the chords, the form and made it our own. We recorded it ourselves and I mixed it in the comfort of my home studio. Very proud of this one!
